SHARROW LANTERN CARNIVAL

 

A community event encouraging you to create giant lanterns then parading the streets of Sharrow. Theme - Music

 

Gather at Mount Pleasant Park, at 7.30pm for wandering minstrel buskers, jugglers, street entertainers and drumming filling in preparation of the start of the carnival.

Join the procession through the streets of Sharrow led by the Sheffield Samba Band, ending in Cemetery Park about 8.45pm (ish) for an array of fire, colours and jazz lounge celebrations with music from:

The Terrible Yearning*(Tree Jazz Thom),

Woolly Mammoth (King Capisce Tim and Beatnik Ralph),

Sunshine Paul, and Flamingo Love Parade*(acoustic set),

Looking at the facebook group the sessions seemed to be aimed mainly at adults? Are they suitable for children too?

there are sesssions for children to make the lanterns, and the parade is for children too on the sunday but the preparty and after party are for adults as they are local pubs
