Hen Do in Liverpool

Recommended Posts

Hi!

I am planning my friend's Hen Do and we've decided on Liverpool in August.

As I've only been to Liverpool once for a night out I've been pretty much relying on the internet to find places to stay and go for the day/night.

Just wondered if anybody has any recommendations. I'm keen to book some kind of boat/barge trip and also mabey a dance/burlesque lesson. Also a couple of ideas on some nice restaurants/bars....nothing trashy or cheesy tho.

Thanks! (not sure if it goes down well asking about Liverpool but I couldn't find any Liverpool forums)

Campanile Hotel down by the docks is very handy.

Albert Dock has a lot to see / do and plenty bars / places to eat.

You could do a "Ferry Across the Mersey"

The Philharmonic pub is a must see.

The loo's are the poshest I've seen (though haven't been in the ladies!)

We stayed in Liverpool a couple of years ago and loved it. My hubby is a big Beatles fan so there's lots to do, but loads of other stuff to do too. The Tate gallery is great and really interesting - situated right on the Albert Dock. There's lots of nice places to eat and drink around there. Some great shopping too, Liverpool 1 has some good shopping. We went to the Cavern for a few drinks and loved it. Agree with PP too , The Philarmonic is a fantastic pub with lots of character definately worth a visit. We also took the Ferry (across the Mersey) which was really good too. Depends on what kinda thing you're after but there's definately something to accomodate everyone

We stayed at Holiday Inn Express right on the Albert Dock, think it cost us £120 for a night but our room overlooked the Dock (remember where the map used to be on This Morning) I think there's also a Travelodge not far away from there too depending on your budget

I have stayed at the Marriott, right by Lime Street, and the Jurys Inn, near the Albert Dock. For me, the must do's are;

The Beatles museum

The two wonderful cathedrals

Albert Dock

(If time!) Tour on the water bus that leaves from Albert Dock, you have to book for that tho.

The taxi drivers are a hoot, and are very keen to talk to you. They are 'old school' and help you out of the cab and also with your luggage! I LOVE going 'home'. You will have a fab time!!!
