crookesey
Heard it on the news this morning, up till now The Information Commissioner's Office has been unable to fine other government departments for breaches of the Data Protection Act. So the next time the DWP decides to lose 25 million peoples personal details, another government department could impose a fine it. Do they think that we are bloody daft? Not to mention the millions of pounds in legal fees that the defending department will shell out. The lunatics have finally taken control of the asylum. Berberis
Fining the department will do nothing. How about fining the Minister in charge, or sacking the person responsible for Data Protection for the department. Maybe when people start to be held responsible others will think twice about doing anything wrong.
