Election to be announced tomorrow for Thursday 6th May.

Recommended Posts

I predict sheffield will be out of step with the rest of the country, just like1997.

Council will revert back to labour, the country will turn TORY, Bring it on!!

Time to hoist the red flag, Blunkett to do the honours again.

This election will see the rise (of a few percent) of the 'other' parties.

Labour - Down

Tory - Up

Lib Dem - Up

Green - Up

UKIP - Down

Socialist Labour - Up

BNP - Up

BNP voter share will increase significantly and will show a rise in the south as well as the north, although significant, their result will still fall short of coming close to electing a member of the house of commons.

Labour will see the largest overall drop in support of any party.

Why do you think the UKIP vote will go down? I think they will do the best out of the smaller parties, both in terms of proportion of the total vote and increase in votes as compared to last GE.

You can say that again, I was looking forward to Homes Under the Hammer,

But we have clips of Gordon driving around london, yawn.

I don't think the campaign will get much better then that sadly!

All the same, I need to find out where and when there will be a debate between the candidates in my constituency. I know it won't be a pleasant experience, but I do want to make something approaching an informed choice.

Well it can all change. That’s just my view at the present time. UKIP have been pretty silent of late as think they are hoping for a hung parliament so they can help form a coalition government.

I think UKIP is being drowned out by the other parties especially the BNP in media coverage. UKIP is also seen as a single issue party and has found it hard to branch out, plus this election is going to be fought on many fronts, over multiple policies and Europe is not one of them.

I agree with you that Europe will not be a big issue at this election, but they have other policies as well now! They are no longer a single issue party. You can read more at the link below, although I agree that there is a perception of them being single issue. That links in to the problem with being a small party, the lack of media coverage makes it hard to shift that perception.

they haven't done a great deal to publicise the non-eu policies.
