Jillybabes
Has anyone ever had this, its driving me to distraction, it starts in the left side of my back and goes all the way round, under my ribs and radiates up to my shoulder. I feel bloated and breathless and no matter what I do it doesn't seem to budge except when I'm laying down. I have mentioned it to doctors before but them don't seem bothered, please help
hard2miss
Can you get someone to punch you in the back ?
rubydazzler
I would be thinking severe indigestion but that usually gets worse if you lie down. Have you tried any of the over the counter remedies for indigestion? It's obviously troubling you so sounds like you need to go back and do more than 'mention' it. EmilyM
I keep getting an ache at the back of my left hip, but I think maybe that's because I sit with my legs crossed.

Yes, definitely see a different doctor - or make another appointment with your current one and make it perfectly clear that it's bothering you! Funky_Gibbon
Seek a second opinion. The symptoms you describe could cover a range of medical issues.
Mister M
Jillybabes, I'm not a medical specialist but this sounds uncannily like what I had 2 months ago which was diagnosed as 'cholecystitis', basically problems with your gall bladder. It was diagnised at the Hallamshire by using an ultrasound machine where the doc could see the gall stones which were blocking the ducts. I'm having my gall bladder removed by keyhole surgery sometime soon. Obviously I agree with others on here that you need expert medical advice, and if the pain becomes more troublesome go to the walk in centre at the Hallamshire. Hopefully they'll take you more seriously than your GP. Best wishes
KamalJoe
It could be serious heart condition or back problem. What is your profession?
