Are UKIP just another racist party?

Recommended Posts

You left-wing scum are all the same, wanting to hand our birthright to Romanian gypsies who beat their wives and children into begging and stealing money they can gamble with, Muslim nutters who want to kill us and put us under medieval Sharia law, the same Africans who sold their Afro-Caribbean brothers into a slavery that Britain was first to abolish (but you still want to apologize for!)

I have heard such sentiments, or very similar, expressed by generations of men (particularly men) who would be offended if you were to describe them as anything other than socialists. Men who have voted for 'Old Labour' all their lives - as their fathers did. Such attitudes were commonly excused by the Labour Party intelligentsia as harmless xenophobia.

I can't imagine who these people vote for now, perhaps most of them are amongst the huge section of the community who no longer bother to vote because they've been sidelined by New Labour's total surrender to the mores of the middle classes, most of whom see no threat from mass immigration ?

It's doubtful that they would consider the UKIP, in spite of this outburst by Paul Wiffen. The UKIP is seen as the last refuge of the 'true-blue' Tory since Cameron and Clegg have tried so hard to make their parties indistinguishable from New Labour.

An irrelevant bit, unless you believe that Paul Wiffen is an infallible psychic.

An incredibly relevant bit to the people who these criminals then go onto hurt, steal from, rape and kill but have been allowed into our country.

Your not looking hard enough. There are plenty of us around.

It is just that the left wing think that they should brand everyone a racist who doesn't conform to their blinkered view of society. I suspect it is about to backfire, because calling the electorate names on the run up to an election isn't a smart move. About right for the shower running the country though.

Headingnorth has admitted to being opposed to mass immigration but nobody has even suggested he is a racist.

One or two amusing comments inteh Beeb'S original story:

Mike Gapes, Labour MP for Ilford South, said: "There is an unpleasant whiff about Mr Wiffen."

A whiff from Wiffen? - How about Sour Gapes from Mr Grapes?:hihi:

Toby Boutle, the Conservative candidate for the area, said if Mr Wiffen 's comments are correct then "it says a lot about UKIP that someone like this is their regional chairman in London".

Lib Dem candidate Anood Al-Samerai said: "I would not wish to see this man standing in Ilford South."

Surely those two candidates aren't worried by UKIP?

UKIP might pick up protest votes, but even should they get one or two parliamentary seats, I doubt anybody is going to treat them seriously ... are they?

Oh I think they have to be taken seriously at the Euro elections. General elections are not the same though. It's not all about the EU at a general election and UKIP don't have a lousy PR voting system to assist them at a General election either.

My own gripe with UKIP is rather different though. I used the 38 Degrees website on Tuesday to e-mail the candidates in my constituency to ask them to pledge to protect the BBC from overly harsh cuts and saving BBC 6 music.

UKIP didn't let their candidate answer the e-mail, but instead sent out a bizarre Littlejohn-esqe rant from their central office, essentially arguing that the BBC should be more like a low-budget fox news.

It's not the loony views of UKIP that annoy me, so much as their insistance that central office deals with all queries rather then the people actually standing for election who would be supposed to represent constituents if they ever get elected!

Just who is your UKIP candidate? The candidates applications aren't in yet.

Even if you don't know his name you can pretty much guarantee it'll be some bewildered middle-aged swivel-eyed racist ranting on about EU and immigration. The name's irrelevant.
