top4718
As a reasonably frequent business traveller to London (approx once a week) I was wondering if buying a Railcard would be advantagous to me. How do they work and what are the benefits??
Sergeant
Not really, only useful if trips are taken on an almost daily basis. Try using 'thetrainline.com' I use them weekly for my return journey from Sheffield to London and pay about £34.00 for a reserved 1st class ticket. Generally saving between £100 & £130. HeadingNorth
Which railcard would you qualify for? Or are you thinking of a season ticket, which is probably not worth the money if you only travel once a week.

How do they work and what are the benefits?? You get cheaper fares using a Railcard. However, if you are really a "frequent business traveller", you should: a) Already know that. b) Have no use for a Railcard as the business will pay your travel expenses.. Of course, you might well run your own business, in which case, disregard b) above and insert c): c) Give up. If you can't comprehend the purpose of a Railcard, you have little chance of operating a business successfully.
