Berberis
No it wasn't but the 3 MPs caught offering to change the law said they would have as much influence under a Conservative Govt as a Labour one. The Tories track record on corruption is no different. Take a look at the 4 Tories on this page for example that have been hiding the money paid to them to influence the way they vote. http://www.lobbyingtransparency.org/content/view/31/1/ They aren't unusual, they are all at it. •George Eustice, Conservative candidate for Camborne and Redruth in Cornwall •Penny Mordaunt, Conservative candidate for Portsmouth North •Priti Patel, Conservative candidate for Witham in Essex •Emma Reynolds, Labour candidate for Wolverhampton North East 4?? anarchist
Indeed it is only the Conservative Party that opposes a statutory register of lobbyists. http://www.lobbyingtransparency.org/content/view/36/1/ They would appear to be the party that most wants to preserve corruption through self regulation. This is pretty thin stuff even by your standards. It actually refers to 3 PROSPECTIVE Conservative MPs and 1 PROSPECTIVE Labour MP. I am interested in how they are hiding the money paid to them to influence the way they vote. In my country you have to actually be elected before you get to vote in parliament. These people are nothing more than candidates in a General election. Is it your opinion that no one who has ever worked before should be allowed to stand as a parliamentary candidate in case they favour a previous employer? In my experience ex-employees rarely do favours for their old companies, and many have to be escorted off the premises before they wipe the computer hard drives. anarchist
A good job I am not standing for Chancellor Seconded, but your figures are only 25% out. That is better than Alistair Darling usually manages.

anarchist
perhaps you should have treated your employees better I think you will find it standard practice, but I don't suppose you will ever rise to the level of employing others.

The point is it is standard practice for MPs to be paid directors of companies, in fact there are only 230 who are not paid to represent business interests in Parliament and the Conservatives want to keep this from us. http://www.spinwatch.org/-articles-by-category-mainmenu-8/48-lobbying/255-whom-does-your-mp-serve

Titanic99
Can I ask why the conservative party are thieves and liars, have you any evidence to back this up.We have definite evidence that Brown and the whole labour party ARE thieves and liars. How about this little lot: http://www.guardian.co.uk/politics/2008/jun/06/conservatives.partyfunding1
Titanic99
It is good to see how little defence you can put up for this corrupt Labour Government. Regarding the inheritance tax. No one actually benefits until they are dead. Indeed Mr Blair, who has earned (sorry collected ) £20 million since stepping down as Prime Minister will probably vote for Cameron in order to be able to pass the fruits of his lifes toil onto his wife and family. By the way what ever happened to that Labour pledge to provided an NHS dentist for all by 2007? So you do approve of politicians implementing policies that will benefit themselves by around half a million each!
