mint88
My girlfriend graduates in a couple of months and her family are coming to Sheffield but I don't know much about the restaurants here. Can anyone make any recommendations? Looking for somewhere quite upmarket for only 7/8 people.
430spider
Try Artisan at Crosspool. About 1.5 miles up the road from the uni and your prospective in-laws will be impressed. Just hope they're paying as it ain't cheap! But at least you can be pretty sure they won't be disappointed.
umbertobongo
Rafters at Hangingwater crossroads or Baan Thai on London Road
wwcrazy
Rafters gets my vote, but it will be a bit pricey. Lovely for a special occasion. Graduation is a special occasion as far as Im concerned:D

libertarian
try k pasa on west st, italian place really nice food and good atmosphere http://www.k-pasa.co.uk/ While ok I would not suggest that K Pasa was in any way up market (as per the OP's request). As to previous suggestions I have not been to Rafters but have heard good things about it. Artisan I have been to, though only once in its current incarnation (It was Thyme before). It was pretty nice though not spectacular, with the food far better than the wine service. Would I recommend it? Yes, however while good I was hoping for more from its price/ hype. It is however definitely upmarket. I can't specifically recommend anywhere in Sheffield that would suit your requirements, though there are some very nice restaurants not too far away in the Peak District. Embob
The London Club in town might be good. I went in a party of 6 for mothers day and it was lovely.
scottf
walnut club on eccy road? Or bar 23 restaurant in west 1?
ellielambert
I'd suggest Harrisons just off West Street (formerly The Ivory) or The Milestone. I went to Cafe Guru for my graduation which was wonderful but I know curry isn't to everyone's tastes for a special occasion.
