War! What is it good for?

Recommended Posts

Just another thread to expound a lot of hot air.

Violence is a part of mankind's genetic makeup. The male member of any species of life on earth has aggressive tendencies which can lie dormant or surface at anytime when provoked by a particular situation. There will always be wars so get used to it or you can go on living in a John and Yoko fantasy world if that suits you better.

You make it sound like we can't be held accountable for it because we don't know better.

There is a certain advantage in being the victors. One can loot at leisure or as it was referred to in WW2 as "liberating articles of desirability and value from the enemy", having your way with women folk on the losing side and generally acting the swaggering bully and having eveyone anxious to kiss your ass

We cant stop wars even if we know that they are against all civilized standards of behaviour. They're like safety valves. One side starts to push, diplonacy is tried and fails, the side starts to push harder and harder until the other side finds it completely intolerable and then things blow up.

It's the way things have always been.. We are about 5,000 years from evolving enough to be able to live together in complete peace
