Tony
According to the truth giver Wikipedia: Potpourri is a mixture of dried, naturally fragrant plant material, used to provide a gentle natural scent in houses. It is usually placed in a decorative wooden bowl, or tied in small bags made from sheer fabric. But, since it doesn't smell of anything unless you hang it under your nose it seems to have no useful function at all. Might it be more useful if it had a purpose? Does anyone have a recipe for edible potpourri?
HeadingNorth
As far as I'm aware it is edible ... just unpleasant. I don't think anything actively dangerous goes into it.

Tony
I'm fancying a bacon and egg sandwich right now, but the smell would send the dog nuts if I put it in a wooden bowl on the mantle. No, edible potpourri it has to be.
alchresearch
It attracts dust though, I wouldn't want to eat it. Just buy some poncey kettle chips and let them go soft. Add a bit of "shake and vac" for that fragrance.
