wodger
As a matter of interest. The avatar I have placed is a brass item I have come accross recently. It seems that nobody has any idea what this item is. Can anyone enlighten me. It is 12 inches in height. I hope that it is clear to see.
rubydazzler
It's too small to see, can you photobucket it?
John Gault
Its as clear as pitch, but it looks like a finnial.

wodger
A finnial. I would have thought that. But I am told that it is far too heavy for that. It screws apart.
rubydazzler
I think it looks vaguely religious, or alternatively, a Victorian ashtray.

Who ever says that doesn't know what they are talking about, finials or finnials can weigh tons and come in many shapes, sizes and materials.
