Best way to get out of bed in the morning?

I'm TERRIBLE at getting up! Especially in winter. The light in my eyes nearly blinds me if I switch the main overhead light on and, in the past, I've often had to walk to the bathroom with my eyes shut. I think my eyes are extra sensitive to light.

 

These days I use my phone as my alarm with a nice gentle alarm (otherwise it makes me bad tempered!), and when I reach over to press snooze, ( I normally have to press it 3 times and each snooze is 10 minutes long), I also switch a low lamp on that I have at the side of the bed. It's one that gradually gets brighter so it eases me into awakening.

 

I'm not even very good at coming around when I wake up naturally. I think it's just one of those things.

 

Doesn't help being a shift worker though I suppose!
