Stormy
Perhaps in that case we should be asking why the EU should be bailing out the Greek economy when it is purely an internal affair. Now that is a valid question (although not relevant to the point about French railways!)
HeadingNorth
the french people might see it as a good chance to do some negotiation in favour of the workers . Blackmail is not a negotiation, it's a criminal offence.
Phanerothyme
It's not blackmail. It's a strike.
Anna Glypta
As has been seen with strikes by people like the rail unions and BA staff in this country, unions are happy to cause the maximum inconvenience to innocent members of the public and cause damage to the country's economy in order to further their aims. Hopefully one day politicians will wake up and act to stop this madness. Thatcher stood up to the miners. If we have to be part of Europe, we need Europe to appoint leaders with a backbone to do the same.
ricgem2002
Blackmail is not a negotiation, it's a criminal offence. blackmail might be a criminal offence going on strike legally isnt . morally it might be wrong doing it at a time like this but if it helps their cause and they get what they want job done:thumbsup:

Puts pressure on for their demands but morally??

I find it wrong that a few folk with an ability to stop a transport network have the power to disrupt peoples lives. One day the population will wake up and there will be a backlash.
