Greybeard
No donation lines for the Brits when they were stranded as far as China.... Afraid not....the govt. will have enough on its plate compensating the airlines that have lost money not the passengers who've been stranded. mike84
No donation lines for the Brits when they were stranded as far as China.... You'd have thought that the Brits who were mainly abroad on business or holidays could manage them selves, not living in poverty with no possessions, no money. It's hardly rebuilding a city / country from a major disaster.
CorkerSWFC
What about peoples insurance which may have run out while they have been stuck? People who havent got medicine and are now poorly, out of all these people i bet theres plenty who have got a story to tell, it will be interesting to find out how people went on. mike84
What about peoples insurance which may have run out while they have been stuck? Tough. I'd imagine that will be the answer from the insurance companies
medusa
People are stranded- it's a temporary situation and the vast majority of them are physically just fine, even if they're a little stressed and out of pocket. Compare that to what would have happened if the flights had been continued and a number of them had fallen out of the sky after the engines were damaged by volcanic ash- do you think that people would be happy to just stay where they are for another few days until it was safe to return then? HeadingNorth
Act Of God. Odin, presumably, since it was an Icelandic volcano...
Snook
What the hell has happened in the last few days with this volcano farce, the British people have been let down by our inept government big time. What an absolute joke, hundreds of thousands of people stranded abroad  What should they have done?
Agent Orange
No, they have not been unfairly treated. The holidaying public were safe, in most instances, they had food, water and shelter and weren't in any immediate danger so what would you ask the government do? Isn't there another amount of volcanic dust due on the scene? Is the same thing going to happen again when the next one comes, i also think i heard the last time this certain volcano erupted it lasted 2 years?????
