meh! the spelling on this thread from people who understand how the IQ curve works, have degrees and higher qualifications but don't know the difference in meaning between 'illicit' and 'elicit', don't know that 'definition' has only one 'f', that 'less' and 'fewer' are used to define the measure of different things, and that 'it's' and 'its' mean something else ...

 

For me, people who can't spell or punctuate shouldn't be allowed to vote either, but we're equal opportunities stupid on SF

Why is it necessary to criticise someone's spelling on an advert? fgs! Some people are taking their self imposed spelling/grammar flaming to ridiculous lengths on here now.

If people are going to post on a thread like this one, especially if they are of the opinion that stupid people shouldn't be allowed to vote, they should, at the very least, endeavour not to appear stupid or ill educated themselves. IMO.

So tell me when the Niponese take a test is it the same as the one we take in england or is it designed for THEIR CULTURE, you know by their own people.

What I do know is that in the US for example, people of many different cultural backgrounds would take the same test, making it easy to analyse.

Personaly I belive an IQ test should be a requirement, plus an awareness test.

 

Taking it further we could eliminate the complexity of what to do with these people by getting rid of them all together.

What makes you so sure that you would pass an IQ test? Nothing in your post suggests you would pass.Emily Pankhurst died for the right to vote.Any volunteers prepared to die to remove the vote for any section of the population? Any one who registers to vote is entitled to vote,it is called democracy.

 

But children aren't allowed to vote-why?

I would have thought it is because of the fact that they don't understand the issues and/or the ease with which their vote could be bought

 

This also applies to stupid people-although an IQ test would be a ridiculous method of applying any rule on who could vote as you don't need logic to be a responsible voter
