Pills For Depression, How Good Are They?

Recommended Posts

I remember when I first started on SF, you used to go through periods of posting tons of threads each night for a while then you`d vanish for ages.

Yeah it sort of worked as a venting place for when I got towards the higher end of my cycle. If I posted on here and inflicted the whole forum with my oddities it saved those closer to me from having to deal with it alone.

When my mood takes a dip I find it hard to speak to anyone, even on here so I'd stop til I felt better again.

Most of my crazy venting goes onto facebook now, which is something I suspect the moderating team are incredibly grateful for :D

Oh I dont know... it used to be great when you really got going- many of those thread and posts were hilarious as well as being very clever.

There were a few other posters who are no longer with us who seemed to go through similar phases, I often wonder if they were the same.

By the way Jabbers ... we have a steam train that runs just down from where I live .. you could come and train spot!

I love trains!

No matter what pills do to me I`ll always love trains! My ambition is to live near a railway line.

Agree with you about the mood thing Mojo ... there are times where I want to cover myself in the duvet .. go to sleep, and wake up the following day hoping it will be better ... so perhaps the depression never goes away really, but you learn to be able to control it ... ? ? Does that make sense ? Probably not ... lol

Hahaha ... you wally !

For what it's worth ... I take, at the moment, 40mg Amytryptilline at night to help me sleep .. they are a try something anti depressant but can also help with sleep .. I think they act on the nerve endings or something ...

40mg Zomorph twice daily and 40mg Prozac a day ...

Witha nice little topper of Oramorph if I get a pain breakthrough and need to do something - if I dont then I give to the pain and just be a lazy git and do stuff that relaxes me ...

I'm on a permanent pill vacation, Saffy.

I can't remember what reality looks like I'm so dosed up. I was finaly diagnosed bi polar when I was 26... I was less surprised than the Doctor, in fact I was the one who insisted I was seen by a specialist as there was no way depression was causing my god complex.

Depression itself does come back, sometimes you cope and sometimes you need the pills to help you through. Every time you work through a bout of depression you learn new coping skills that you carry with you.

They make you stronger, even if you don't feel it.
