andyofborg
it depends how you define "christian nation" it may be full of various varieties of christian but the constitution is quite clear about the separation of church and state

JFKvsNixon
Not true, people have NOT gotten over it , and will NOT forget what he said. But as andyofborg said the USA is one of the few countries where their secularity is enshrined in law.
flamingjimmy
Not true, people have NOT gotten over it , and will NOT forget what he said. A lot of people have gotten over it, there are idiots who haven't, sure. But it's not in the news at all anymore. The sentiments he expressed were similar to those of your founding fathers. And the main point he makes is that "there is not one religion in the US" which is true and bloody obvious. The point wasn't that 'The US is not a Christian nation' it was that 'The US is not just a Christian nation'
