LeopoldSq Posted April 26, 2010 Share Posted April 26, 2010 Hello All! Platillos are kick-starting Leopold Square’s jam-packed events schedule this May Day bank holiday, with a dose of Barrio Latino. The already successful salsa night combines dance lessons with themed cocktails and has lessons to suit all abilities whether you’re an absolute beginner or a seasoned salsero. With welcoming hosts, a dynamic energy, strong instructors and a crowd-aware DJ, Barrio Latino is set to bring the Samba spirit to Sheffield. During Bank holiday Sundays, there will be an open-air party in the Square’s gorgeous surroundings and Platillos will be open until 2am. There will be a live salsa band and dance show, BBQ and cocktail bar and DJs playing a great mix of pure Latin and African rhythms all day, starting this May 2nd. Leopold Square’s live events programme will be running from May through to mid-September and some of the confirmed acts include The Dizzy Club, Lazy Baby, Tombo Trio, The Dark Side Of The Lounge and The Vernon Sisters. The Square will also be hosting events surrounding the Bupa Great Yorkshire Run taking place in September, Sheffield Food and Drink festival and the city-wide Chance to Dance festival in June. With great outdoor dining and fantastic range of world cuisine, it’s the perfect destination for all ages, tastes and pockets. See you there!
