I went to the Scarborough I am talking about on christmas day and the amusements were open even then. There is the castle you can wander around; the fairground ride area at the north end of the south beach; coastline walks; and that's only the edge. You have a town area much like Lincoln; two markets; and ... just how many attractions do you want to keep you occupied. What sort of holiday were you planning on? The beach is extremely well looked after most of the time so if nothing else your kids could have played on the sands.
