Lib Dems want to bring the age for porn film stars down to 16 ?

Recommended Posts

oh come on 9 ! if we're picking an arbitrary number lets make it 10 at least

"oo two candles on the cake you know what that means ..... SURPRISE we've set up for your first porno film and invited all your friends to watch your debut, we've even got a pony"

I mean 9 is just wrong!

I cant believe that with all the people on here that no one knows whether the Lib Dem policy actually does include this claim. Maybe it does and no one wants to admit it, rather keep it quiet, like the Lib Dems seem to be doing.

They are not going to bother to put anything on their site if they have no plans to change it. The fact that you looked and couldn't find it there indicates they aren't.

If you read on the internet that the Queen is a really an alien lizard creature would you suspect it was true because you couldn't find an official statement from Buckingham Palace denying it?

But:

Let 16-year-olds visit sex shops and see explicit porn, say Lib Dems

By Andy McSmith, Political Editor

Sunday, 21 March 2004

Youngsters aged 16 and 17 should have the right to watch and appear in explicit pornography, the Liberal Democrats decided yesterday.

The proposed relaxation in the law was agreed by a huge majority at the party's spring conference in Southport, despite pleas from one of its most prominent MPs, the work and pensions spokesman, Steve Webb, who argued for keeping the present age limit of 18.

Fair dos - I'd not seen that. 6 years ago is quite a while though so it may not be current policy - it not being on their web site would imply not. It would be nice to see something more recent.

I'm surprised it's taken their enemies so long to find it ... but given Clegg's success in the debates and given that the success has probably scared the other two, I wouldn't be surprised to find that both the Tories and Labour have got the muck-rakers out in force and they may well come up with other embarrassing revelations during the next few days.

As far as "... it may not be current policy - it not being on their web site would imply not..."goes, are we to assume that the Liberals (or any other political party, for that matter) will limit their actions (should they get into power) strictly to the policies detailed on their websites?

So what you mean is that you have started a thread that is likely to be utter tosh, and for all you know the other parties might want to bring the age down to 8?:loopy::loopy::loopy::loopy::loopy::loopy::l

No, it doesnt mean anything of the sort, at the risk of repeating myself  for the hard of reading, it is something that I have read about but couldnt find anything on their website!

:loopy:

Thanks Rupert for the link, it seems that it is true then, I cant believe that any self respecting person could even contemplate voting for a party that wants to see 16 year olds in porn films.

Is this one step nearer to legalizing pedophilia ?

There's been great clamour for 16 year olds to be granted the vote on the grounds that they should be treated as adults. It's hard to believe that there can, simultaneously, be utter disbelief at the thought of them appearing in porn films because they are not adults.

Surely it's either one or the other.

wellllllllll

it IS a classic irony that you can have sex at 16 but cant watch somebody on film doing...or even simulating it??

Good point. It's strange.

Not as strange as the US though. Where you can drive, buy a gun (in some states) but not drink/have sex/get married till 21. Although I've often wondered what would happen if a person in one state got married at 17/18 but then moved to a state where they couldn't have sex till they were 21. Would a married couple be arrested for breaking the law or would their marriage not count in another state...?

Another one that has had me thinking, a child can star in a horror movie yet not be able to watch the movie they starred in
