therudeship
Sunday 9th May 2.30pm @ The Rude Shipyard, 89 Abbeydale Rd GROANBOX with support by Pete David & The Payroll Union A rare opportunity to see a fantastic American roots band, visiting Sheffield again after their superb performance at The Shakespeare last year. The new album The Livingston Sessions is as exciting as their previous efforts, blending their barnstorming blues stomps with field hollers and country dirges, with a sprinkling of African influenced guitar playing. An exhilirating live performance is to be expected from these exceptional musicians. Checkout their 4 star review in the Guardian here http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/2010/apr/29/groanbox-cd-review Support will be from local songwriter Pete David and his rambunctious band, The Payroll Union. Expect old bluegrass tunes, heartbreaking country songs and wired Cave-esque ramblings. This gig starts at 2.30pm folks! Tickets available at The Rude Shipyard (89 Abbeydale Rd) or on the door if there are any left. Don't miss out! http://www.therudeshipyard.com/
