Brown deliberately losing the election?

Recommended Posts

no, they definitely don't want to lose.

IF they lose, they might be able to see a possible advantage coming their way, especially if there is another economic collapse, in the midst of a recession in six months like what happened in the Tories in 1992, in which case Labour could sweep back to power, as the Tories almost certainly would have done had Labour got a small majority then.

definitely no. Politicians always want to win.

they said the same in 1992. That it would be a good one to lose. But anyone that saw them jumping with joy at Conservative Central Office when they pulled off that surprise win knew straight away that the 'this would be a good one to lose' was total nonsense.

after Black Wednesday the Tories probably did wish they'd lost the 1992 election, but not before.

Yes I remember 92, labour was meant to run away with the election. Just goes to show that you can't count your chickens.
