They tried to persue a coalition but in the end they couldn't put a realistic one together.

 

And how does this make the Lib-Con one more realistic?

 

Majorities mean nothing if the MPs can't be whipped into line

 

Unless of course you change the constitution to make no confidence votes almost impossible and lock us into a risky Frankenstein government for 5 years

Atleast there's a chance of this one working, even with perfectly effective whipping a Lab/Lib-Dem coalition would sitll have been a minority utterly reliant upon the nationalists & the Tories to get anything done which hardly sounds like a recipe for an effective administration now then does it?

Is anyone else disgusted at unite for threatening strike action before anything has happened:loopy:

 

A shot across the bows from the unions. Nothing more. After all the government has just done exactly the same thing. This new government seems to behaving quite sensibly at present so let's see what happens.

Why has Sarah Teather not been given a job in this coalition Government - Minister for Women, Official Govt. Totty or whatever.

 

She has:

 

After that election she was made Minister of State in the Department for Education in the coalition between the Conservatives and the Liberal Democrats.
