Reading the proposals and things being discussed, like slashing tax credits

For those earning over £50,000.

Who out there is saying this stuff? I must have stated this half a dozen times today. Is Labour Central Office on smear overdrive today?

You prefer making stuff up? Mandelson has taught you well.

What?

Please pull your nose from davids bottom and realise not everything they say will happen and not everything they say is the truth.

You would be a fool to believe them, or anyother party until things actually happen you may as well pee in the wind :hihi:

I was just asking 'whatever' is going to change, when do people think it hit the general public? obviously it wont be straight away as policies have to be made etc.......Its just some people will be panicking things are going to happen NOW when realistically it will be a year or so i think.

Sorry, was my nativity showing? Sorry, I'll do up my flies.

Of course things change but manifesto's are there for guidance and direction. They provide us with a benchmark and only an idiot would suggest that situations never change. Only an equal idiot would suggest that a political party compiles a manifesto that is full of known lies and falsifications.

There is a lot of work for the new government to do and it won't be easy considering the utter shambles the UK is in. But don't you worry, if I don't like what they do I'll be on their case soon enough.

I'm rather miffed the Tories have dropped their opposition to the employee NI rise and in return are only going "some way" to the 10k tax free allowance. It's classic give with one take with another for someone on average or above salary.

Not sure how the numbers will work till we find out what the uplift in the personal allowance will be but if it ends up being only a few quid a month why bother? There is always a slight cost to updating the tax code over the whole economy - save it for big changes. Like making the allowance £10k immediately to stimulate the economy via low and medium earners having more disposable income. Tweak the top rate of tax band down slightly so that the effect is negated for higher earners if you want too.

Are you implying Im an idiot because im not gulible enough to take their word 100% until things are in place?

Situations do change, manifestos arent lies, they are guidlines to what 'may' happen, and i never said they were lies!. I said, we have to wait and see what happens. But to believe them 100% people would be a fool.

Technically the person saying it is right.

Working Tax Credit is means tested, so if your wages go up your tax credit goes down.

A policy that Ms Macbeth has long argued for as it makes no sense to take tax off someone and then to give it back through something else.
