esme Posted May 10, 2010 Share Posted May 10, 2010 politicians have had their own way for too long, they've forgotten that democracy isn't a dictatorship governed by the party whip where all they have to do is turn up for a vote and they'll get paid democracy is a process of cooperation where issues are debated and hearts and minds are won by the power of reason to support them, not simply rubberstamped because a party has more MP's yes a party whip is quicker and more convenient and leaves more time for more important things like golf or lucrative seats on boards of companies but it's not democracy and painful as this reminder is going to be for everyone, me included, I think it's long overdue Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
