Where is the John Glossop Commemorative Window

Recommended Posts

I have heard today that there was an article on Radio Sheffield some time ago there was a commemorative window somewhere in Sheffield to one of my ancestors John Glossop.

Does anyone have any knowledge of it or where it is or was?

If John Glossop paid for a stained glass window in Sheffield Cathedral then it would be commemorated to him. could ask sheffield-cathedral.c.o.uk, other than that contact picturesheffield.com. or archives@sheffield.gov.uk - our local archives

if it was on Radio Sheffield have you tried contacting south.yorkshire@bbc.co.uk - BBC have started a 'tell your history to the world' site in january where local people can contact over historical objects in their possession. good luck in your search

We have a Glossop Road in Sheffield am sure other on this forum can tell you if it was named after him.

No, surely Glossop Road was named after the fact that it leads to Glossop!! Maybe the name came from the town in the first place- hope you find the window by the way!
