fortisip
i dont necessarily agree with that jobee theres too much silliness for christianity to survive i truly believe it will because christ has promised that it will and he is central to a christians life there are millions of christians following christ in one way or another christianity may appear silly and silent but the truth is its alive and is very serious and more and more are turning to christ because of our very fragile world and people are realising that economics ,consumerism ,the rat race is not life giving and people are afraid of whats happening to us enviromentally and socially and are seeking real meaning in christ

There are witch hunts going on in some parts of Africa against homosexuals. What are Christians doing in the armed forces volunteering to kill in counties that have done nothing to this country or Christianity, it is Christian management that's emptying the pews. http://www.evilbible.com/Top_Ten_List.htm

Grahame
We have been net friends a long time, Christianity lost the plot many centuries ago through bad management and fascist type bullying. Those 26 prelates getting automatic seats in the lords will not be there much longer. * Political Reform - Handing power back to people. Plans to replace the House of Lords with an elected second chamber of Parliament, scrap I.D. cards and the DNA database and referendum on introducing a new voting system - all part of a raft of proposals Nick Clegg unveiled today. - http://leicester-libdems.org.uk/news/300.html Yeah, but your average devout Christian isn't like some of these. Grahame
You have been indoctrinated. Christ's message was 'do as I say or burn for eternity in hell'. I am sure the Pope would have had your whole hearted approval if he had said to his priests, "don't pursue evil and don't harm children or you will go to hell." jobee
Yeah, but your average devout Christian isn't like some of these. Yes, but the devout Christian is not shouting loud enough. Even the Pope is not what I think a Christian should be.
Grahame
Yes, but the devout Christian is not shouting loud enough. Even the Pope is not what I think a Christian should be. The Pope was wrong in the way he handled things, even Catholics themselves have apologised for the churches behaviour, as for Christians like me 'shouting' as you put it, what good would my voice make, it just stirs up hatred and discontent, I would rather work in the background and offer my time and perhaps a listening ear, I think it would help those who have suffered much more. You know in my opinion that is what Christianity is about. In the war Christians organised soup kitchens, apparently the WI do a good work, my aunt used to collect postage stamps, milk bottle tops, and knit blankets for the people in Africa. She couldn't do much but the whole church contributed in whatever way they could depending on their talents, and I think that is far more productive and helpful than aggressively shouting your head off. Just my opinion.
