bczel01
Hi, me again with the old family history!! I have a section of an old letter, I think addressed to my great grandfather. The address is Vickers Works, Sheffield, PO Box 57. Don't know the company though (who's office is registered there). The letter is dated the 24th February 1941 and I think referred to the blitz of December 1940. Can anyone shed any light on what might have happened? Thank you. Chris. jjbarnesfan
Vickers became English Steel Corporation and later British Steel Corporation. PO box 57 was the postal address for the River Don Works,Brightside Lane. There may also have been a few other company names in the transition from vickers to BSC
