NoddyHolder
As Labour also tried to do in 2006: The government is considering ending milk subsidies for 1.2 million primary school children in England as they cost too much to administer and do little to improve health, the Guardian can reveal. http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2006/jan/04/health.schoolmeals But when it was around in maggies day the consensus was that milk was good for you..As incompetent as Blair and Brown were they were not in the same league as Maggie for evilness...could the anti christ have been a woman all along ? Nowhere, other than the headline, does it say the government is considering it. In fact, it was a report from independent consultants London Economics which suggested it. Bozo
Labour have done well spreading fear on this one, lots of people are under this illusion that this lie is true. The answer is only if you earn over £50,000. That's what has been in the Conservative manifesto for ages. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/mobile/uk_politics/election_2010/8617433.stm If the Tories are going to save £400 million through cutting tax credits as they claimed they are going to have to cut credits for people on considerably lower incomes then £50, 000. If they are going to guarantee that they will not cut it for incomes below £50,000 the most they are likely to save is £45 million. Both the Treasury figures and IFS concur with this. The Tories need to specify which of their own claims they are going with. They might also wish to address whether the mix up in their figures is a deficit in honesty or competence on their part.
