Car auction help please

Recommended Posts

If you want a reliable car, get a Peugeot 306 diesel, as new as you possibly can, with preferably under 100,000 miles.

There's a reason they're highly sought and why mine on Ebay fetched £800 even after it was written off!

Younges of Sheffield have a 306 diesel in, £1695:

Believe it or not that is my old 306 that I traded in last saturday for a newer 307!! Wow.

A Peugeot reliable? Really?! Never thought i'd hear that. Most people i know with french cars in general are always having one problem or another. Maybe you got very lucky :)

Our old 306 hdi estate had 265k on the clock when we got rid. It was a bit tired bit was still pulling well. In 120k I used it for it needed nothing apart from Tyres and servicing.

I had a 306 dturbo as well before that, 50k in it and nothing required apart from a total rebuild after being squashed by a lorry on a round about! Shame the insurance wouldn't pay for it doing!

at the auctions its best to go on one of the fleet sales days, get a decent ex fleet car with full service book and only motorway miles which have just reached the end of thier 2 or 3 year leases. most of the auction houses have fleet auctions
