Remaking a party - what will be the point of Labour?

Recommended Posts

Leaderless and nationally pointless for the time being, what will Labour Party become? What direction should it take?

With the centre ground of politics occupied by the new coalition government will Labour move back to the left? New Labour moved them to the centre to appeal to more voters but are there enough voters remaining in that sector who will vote Labour again?

Where do they go from here to make themselves popular and relevant again?

Why don't you give us your advice as your party has now been engulfed by the Tory party and is more at sea than the Labour Party? What is your party going to do to regain its credibility?

It should cease being the kind of party that is full of people like Lord Mandelslime and Alistair Campbell and back to being one that actually supports the working class, rather than treating them with contempt and instead, sucking up to corporate interests.

Won't happen though.

Nothing what he said was wrong. So rather than act childish by mentioning a word over and over again, to get someones attention. Why dont you give you own ideas on what your labour party should do, and how it might mount a serious challenge.

The lib dems probably did the right thing. For the lib dems this coalition means that they are in the public eye for maybe 5 years, rather than a month of election coverage. They are sitting on the front benches and standing up for people, rather than a voice in the corner, squeaking every so often. They will have problems in the future, as they are going to have to establish there party as a singularity again. How they will do that bis anyones guess.

As for labour, im tempted to take the stance of Hesseltine...as in "who cares" but in saying that, maybe we (conservatives) should care. We want our party to succeed, but it helps to have an opposition party who gives as good as they get.

I think i would prefere either of the millibands.
