General says Afghan war 'is a war on Islam'

"The former head of the British armed forces who recently retired and appointed as a defence advisor to Prime Minister David Cameron on Sunday confirmed that the war in Afghanistan is a war on Islam."

I haven't had chance to look too closely as I am at work. Is he stating the obvious or did some people think there ever was a legitimate reason to invade Afghanistan?

 

There is an Islamist agenda which if we dont oppose and face it off in southern Afghanistan, or Afghanistan, or in South Asia, then frankly that influence will grow.

 

Many muslims say there is a differance between Islam and Islamists, we apear to be at war with Islamists.

The Swiis theory of national defence is that if every citizen is armed and in good practice with their weapons, and are prepared to fight in territory they know, any invader will have a hard time.

Of course, this is something the Afghans have been doing for centuries, against outsiders and other Afghans.

 

Are the USA admitting yet what a mistake they made, supporting Afghanistan's "freedom fighters" against the atheistic tyranny of godless Russian Communism?
