daftlad
You mean like Christians do? Like atheists and other non-conformist christians can and do do. Attending a religious school and not going to assembly on the scale of things is "a problem" of the slightest magnitude. Anyone truly proud of our tolerant traditions would wonder what your problem is. There are 460 churches for the Church of Pakistan alone. http://www.oikoumene.org/member-churches/regions/asia/pakistan/church-of-pakistan.html There will be many more for other denominations not least the Roman Catholic church that has more members. Roughly equivalent to the number of mosques in the uk bearing in mind the relative population sizes. You really prefer this to this? I think it fair to say, you have a strange and unusual sense of the aesthetic. the new mosque is not in keeping with the area its a carbunkle on the landscape, which idiot on the council gave the planning permission for that
JFKvsNixon
the new mosque is not in keeping with the area its a carbunkle on the landscape, which idiot on the council gave the planning permission for that So you'd have rather they designed it in the style of the DIY superstore just down the road? Perhaps you should write to the council and ask if they run planning decisions past you before they approve anything?
sccsux
I know a couple of white racists but that doesn't mean all white people are racist does it? Using the (flawed) logic of some posters on SF it does. this? That just looks out of place.
Wildcat
That just looks out of place. May be they should make more develoments in keeping with the design? The area is pretty shabby and could do with a facelift.
sccsux
The area is pretty shabby and could do with a facelift. Why wasn't that done instead? The cost would've been about the same.
sccsux
and the mosque looks as "wrong" as churches do Yep. Squash the lot of 'em and build community centres that cater for the whole of the social mix of the area.
Wildcat
Why wasn't that done instead? The cost would've been about the same. The mosque was self funded. Why should they pay for the rest of the area to have a facelift?

Tshombe
The mosque was self funded. Why should they pay for the rest of the area to have a facelift? So typical of their holding their hand out mentality.
tab1
So typical of their holding their hand out mentality. Typical scrounger mentality:roll: Wanting something for nothing, They put their hands in their pockets and created something they can be proud of if only how a community can co-operate. Have you any example where you have done any good.
