First time selling on Ebay - any advice?

Recommended Posts

Can anyone help me?

I have registered on E-bay. I want to put in a bid for an item but I have not been asked for my payment details. When do I give my payment details? Or do I have to set up another account for my payment details?

Thank you.

Your account is usually linked to paypal, have you got a paypal account?

You pay for the item if and when you win it via any method specified in the auction.

Thanks Shaz, for the reply :)

I don't have a paypal account. I have registered & made a bid for an item which so far I am outbidding everyone else at (exciting times) I am just querying if I do outbid everyone else who has made a bid will I have to make a paypal account then or should it have been created when I registered?

No, you don't have to, most sellers accept other forms of payment such as cheque/ postal order etc.

I strongly suggest you do create a paypal account though as it is the only way to guarantee a refund if you get ripped off or don't receive the item.
