Annique
Doctor D doesn’t really need an introduction being part of both The Orb Dj’ing team 3 Musketeers with Dr Alex Paterson and 808 Dj crew The Spinmasters. Known as the 'Surgeon of Sound' he earned this nickname because of the way he manipulates sound and takes you on a journey, from sometimes a chilled African beat to the funkiest house music, the rarest grooves to the sweetest soul. His story reflects the story of music in Manchester from the late 70s till the present time. Doctor D started out as a soul DJ at a famous Manchester club "The Reno". Currently resident at Summer Dream, One Tree Island and Soul Child in Manchester, he also finds time to present his weekly Soul Club show on Peace FM. His artistic and skilful Dj’ing mean he has not restricted himself to a particular genre and as styles have changed he has used this to push the musical boundaries. @ Mojo, 17 Cemetery Road, Sheffield, S11 8FJ with the Biggest Baddest P.A. in any bar in Sheffield 0114 273 9392 Fri/Sat 9-2.30am Sun – 6pm – late Mon-Thurs – 4 - late All nites Free Entry [except Turbulence 28th] Friday 21st – Doctor D [808 State, The Orb, Peace FM Manchester] House & Soul Saturday 22nd – Winston Hazel, Funky Underground – you know the score Sunday 23rd – Radikal with Dadi Radi playing Motown & Old School Soul Wednesday 26th - DJ Mauro -De Hogar a Hogar Latin Night Friday 28th – Exclusive from Jamaica Turbulence – Reggae, Hip Hop & Rap [£5 Tiks MOTD] Saturday 29th – Bank Holiday inside and out mash up with Riddimtion, Winston Hazel, James L.O.V.E & guests Sunday 30th – Radikal with Dadi Radi - Motown & Old School Soul
