Sainsburys buying Fletchers land to build new store - Wadsley Bridge

had a letter yesterday saying that sainsburys was hoping to buy the land that fletchers was on i personaly think it would be good for around here an will give more jobs what do people think

 

i think its a good idea as the nearist sainsburys we have is crystal peaks good luck to them we need more jobs in this area

I agree with those that think Sainsbury's is a good store, BUT... I also agree with those of you who have concerns about:

a. increased traffic in that area, and

b. knocking down the Travellers

I'm already wondering how traffic will be affected by the planned Argos, etc. on Halifax Road. Unless there are EXCELLENT traffic plans in place, it's gonna be hell on a match day...

I am all for the proposals, it will be excellent use of the land and bring jobs and regenration to the area.

I work near Claywheels Lane, and I don't think there is any further need for another supermarket. Theres already the Morrisons not far away, and the ASDA at Parsons Cross will be opening Autumn 2011.

There is every need for a Sainsbury`s supermarket at this end of the City especially for those of us who shop at Sainsbury`s regularly!

that end of town is going to be choka block with supermarkets soon, with the morrisons, then theres the new asda being built on the old chaucer school grounds and now a sainsburys, people are going to be spoilt for choice

its good. A bit of competition will help keep prices down. Plus we dont have an upmarket supermarket at this end of town so it will be a good addition.

 

Lets not forget the job opportunities too.
