baybo
Just a question regarding steam extractors on cookers (if that is what they are called) here is what im refering to http://www.thegascompany.ie/iopen24/images/product_images/lg44cf285ac0e07.jpg Have had a new kitchen fitted, and have been told that the steam doesnt need to leave the kitchen through a pipe because modern ones have filters is this true? When turned on it does suck, but blows air out the vents in the side.
tallanddopey
it is true, they are however far more effective when linked to a pipe going outside. at least thats my view on things, we have one that just sucks the steam up and it filters most things out but we still get condensation on the units. The extractor is very good and as we notice a difference when the filter needs changing it is doing what it's designed to do. As for the condensation as described by tallanddopey we don't get too much. It obviously gets more noticeable the longer the extractor is on. In that case I just wipe it off. truconstruct
All exractors need to be vented if not they arn't an extractor but a processor. A good processor for smoke will work but you have to change the carbon filter every six months or so at 80 quid a shot.
