Question: Steam extractors on cooker.

Recommended Posts

Just a question regarding steam extractors on cookers (if that is what they are called) here is what im refering to http://www.thegascompany.ie/iopen24/images/product_images/lg44cf285ac0e07.jpg

Have had a new kitchen fitted, and have been told that the steam doesnt need to leave the kitchen through a pipe because modern ones have filters is this true?

When turned on it does suck, but blows air out the vents in the side.

That's similar to the type we've got. Our cooker is nowhere near an outside wall for a pipe. The extractor is very good and as we notice a difference when the filter needs changing it is doing what it's designed to do. As for the condensation as described by tallanddopey we don't get too much. It obviously gets more noticeable the longer the extractor is on. In that case I just wipe it off.
