Wildcat
Since they day they first came into existence and started employing people. It's called wages. Assuming the employees can win any pay rises in the near future. That still leaves a large and vulnerable section of society worse off. Pensioners, the unemployed, soon to be unemployed like all the car workers that have lost their subsidy and those unable to work.

We need to encourage the wealth producing private sector and cut back on the sponge that is the public sector. It has damn near ruined this country bloating the public sector and encouraging people not to work by paying too much in benefits. Just plain stooopid. Any intelligent (and even most semi intelligent) person can see that.
truconstruct
But BECTA won't let us do that. I don't thing there'll be a problem any more.
truconstruct
I do think all this talk of savage cuts is over the top. If the economy was that bad, the government would be scrapping free education, abolishing the NHs and pulling out of the illegal war in Afghanistan. All that's going to happen is that they'll get rid of a few committees and penpushers. Nothing that's really important is under threat. Some things can't be contemplated and no one in truth would want to contemplate getting rid of the NHS when it saves the country as a whole so much money. But needless wars are another issue, in future if Obama wants british troops to hold his hand there will probably be a charge for services rendered. truconstruct
They might be crumbs to you but they are jobs and a family life to others. I'd rather have business distributing money directly than through endless government sand filters. Was that sand filters or sand traps?

Why would they need to win a pay rise to see trickle down, maybe the retension of their job is what's on their minds right now like the rest of the country. Trust you to think of pay hikes at a time of national crisis.

ukdobby
I said all along that Child Trust Funds would, in effect never exist. Hopefully this is a start,we shouldn't encourage/reward people to have kids they can't afford, should also scrap child benefit after 2 and must live in the country to recieve it.
