Cutbacks - Can we afford the Pope's visit?

Karis you make a good point. This man must therefore be responsible single handed for perpetuating HIV and therefore death for a great many people in those Catholic leaning countries throughout Africa. Last time there was someone like this he took his own life in 1945 when he realised he was not going to win.

People in the country will benefit - Catholics, who pay tax too.
There are people in this country who cannot get medical treatment due to the cost, surely if the pope was truly a man of God he would not want to deprive genuine needy people.

Maybe he would but only if they're of the Catholic faith - the only 'true' faith apparently.:shakes:

You think if the Pope doesn't visit, these people will get medical treatment? :loopy:

The Pope is unstable.

He accepted Blair into the catholic church after the slaughter in Iraq.

But will not accept a perfectly innocent homosexual.

What's he coming over here for anyway ? Gathering a few extra rent boys for his chums.

I wish he wouldn't come here.

I've had Christians knocking on my door 4 times this year.

I've emailed the bishop of Leicester asking him to stop the hard sell etc.
