adamd
Some people in my workplace claim they have a safety boot exemption certificate from doctor. Can anyone tell me if this is possible and on what grounds.
Genuflect
Some amputees get such certificates on the grounds that they have no feet.

Mr_Squirrel
A safety boot exemption certificate is a new one on me, however i understand that under certain circumstances a doctor can produce an exemption cert for motorcycle helmets.... The question though is..... WHY? Your boots are there to protect your feet and believe me, broken toes are not only painful but never truly heal.... Also, if you were to have a foot related accident at work without wearing your boots, as far as a claim goes..... You wont have a foot to stand on. Genuflect
Such certificates do exist for amputees as I stated previously. It is Health and Safety at Work gone nuts.
adamd
My "supervisor" at work claims he has one. I buy my own boots rather than the banana shaped plastic company ones and cant tell the difference from my other boots that don't have them. Is that the only reason you can get one?
tallanddopey
google throws up nothing (except to say that safety boots should be worn without exemption) and iv'e never heard of it, so i would say they are talking out of there arse and should be told to get on with it.
