Government won’t provide minister to Question time

Recommended Posts

I don't actually agree with Campbell on the Iraq stuff but at least he does have his convictions, he believes what he and Blair said and he refuses to back down. That takes guts. He still might be wrong but at least he's not spineless like those who voted for war but are now creeping around denying it. If you don't have the strength of your convictions why should anyone ever believe you about anything?

:hihi::hihi: Fantastic,Campbell holding a picture up of David Laws, at the end. :hihi::hihi:

David Laws comes across as the unpopular kid at school who isn't picked on because he's mates with the **** of the year......but everyone knows that sooner or later he'll lose that friendship and then he'll be fed to the wolves.

The party that wants increased freedoms tries to deny the national broadcaster freedom.

Not in this story, they don't. They merely choose not to send a government minister to face anyone other than a shadow minister. Nowhere have they tried to tell the BBC whom it can and cannot have on its show; they're just declining to appear alongside him.

The thing with pic at the end was just stupid. Campbell always comes over like one of those bully boys that tries to pretend they aren't the nasty pieces of work they really are. He's a good liar, you have to give him that, still giving it large that Blair believed in the WMD, isn't he?

He's not even an elected politician, is he?

I'm not sure why this is a story. Surely each political party can make its own decisions about whom it is willing to have appear on these shows?

It's a big story because the government thought it could dictate to the beeb who should/should not appear on their programme, which is disgusting and hypocritical.

Yes, but some things stick and political parties should be aware of it. They've now been made fun of because it appears they've thrown a strop. Alistair Campbell made fun of them. They appear humourlous, stroppy and lacking in the ******** department.

If spitting image was still around the libdem posse "in the government" would be squirming

And false. The government has made no attempt whatsoever to dictate anything to the BBC.

But campbell not a politician is he? A lot of people thought he was running the country at one point, didn't they? Maybe he was, but he's only ever officially been a spin doctor?
