Darth Vader
And false. The government has made no attempt whatsoever to dictate anything to the BBC. They knew Laws wouldn't have stood a chance against Campbell. They must have suspected this would blow up all over their faces, but still thought it was a lesser risk than Laws v Campbell. Daven
Doubtful, since there are not going to be any. Please explain what will happen to the vast majority of us who are unable to pay for private health care and , when sick, are unable to work? What will the Tories be able to offer us? What will the Tories be able to offer us? Only the same as any other party. Unfortunately the Tories are just as much committed to "saving the NHS" as both other major parties; they either don't see, or refuse to admit, that such an objective is flatly impossible. HeadingNorth
Google is your friend. The existence of Google still won't make it a newsworthy story. Everyone in the country can choose to decline an invitation to appear on the BBC, and every political party can decide for itself when it will and will not send someone. Darth Vader
The existence of Google still won't make it a newsworthy story. No, but a quick google search will show you how newsworthy news teams believe it is. Everyone in the country can choose to decline an invitation to appear on the BBC, and every political party can decide for itself when it will and will not send someone. Yes but they obviously can't try and force the beeb's hand and always win.
grafikhaus74
The party that talks about freedom of protest and then sends in the Met to arrest Brian Haw? Freedom of protest, only applies to those the Govt agrees with. Yeah, like LieBore didn't routinely get the cops to beat up the Iraq protestors? Question Time is now beyond parody - Kilroy for the misinformed. When it did get interesting (during the expenses scandal) it was moved to an earlier slot, got record audiences and the studio crowd trashed the politicians. After just two weeks, the BBC thought 'we can't have this' (or were told to put a halt to it) and it reverted to it's normal, late night formula with the token woman, token 'celeb' and Shami Chakrabati. Whether the Govt. did or didn't choose to send a representative last night is irrelevant. They wouldn't have got a word in as the unelected liar Campbell was allowed by Dimbleby to completely run the show and shout down any opposing opinions.
