Suffragette1
Escort services have existed for years. Just another name for the world's oldest profession and no one makes a fuss about it The problem is with women working the streets and it is offensive to many people I would think. It's just a question of the the government becoming emlightened enough to set about regulating it which works to protect women and customers alike. Arresting street women is just a waste of police manpower anyway. They' spend a night in the slammer, pay a small fine and back on the streets the next day I agree, it's a total waste of time and is a ridiculous cat and mouse game. Don't escort services get round it by not openly admitting to selling sex? They all do but it's never acknowledged.
Suffragette1
how often do women have to pay for it? For what? Sex? I have no idea, there are male escorts who tend to be at the higher end of the market. As far as I know, rent boys generally sell sex to men, often men who purport to be straight and/or are in a straight relationship.
emma royd
After recent events and those a few years ago, yet more vulnerable street girls are being murdered like they dont matter to anyone. Is it time for prostitutes to be permanently removed from our streets and given work at safe, clean legalised brothels? Whats your view? There was a prostitute being interviewed on Look North last night, and talking about one of the dead girls. She claimed to do around 8-9 "tricks" each night at between £15/£30 a time. She then said she knew something was wrong when the dead girl didn't turn up to collect her benefits cheque. Should someone who is earning around £40-50K be claiming unemployment benefits. Perhaps paying NI and income tax would be a good way of paying for some sort of security system.

No, because exploited to me implies a lack of choice and/or brainwashing and that the exploitee is a victim.

The money was spent on drugs because as she stated she was a drug addict and alcoholic.

Suffragette1
so sexual and emotionaly naive men are never victims They can be, if they've been coerced or taken advantage of by someone older and/or in a position of power. However, I remember a long thread on here and elsewhere, about a teen whose teacher had slept with him and the majority of the male posters argued that this was not abuse nor exploitation, merely the stuff that wet dreams are made of. plekhanov
so sexual and emotionaly naive men are never victims That's a most dishonest strawman and you know it. To say that men who voluntarily go to prostitutes and pay them for sex aren't victims is in no way to state that "sexual and emotionaly naive men are never victims". Not only that, but if the women who are doing it to feed habits were given heroin on prescription, they probably wouldn't be on the streets at all.
