solero
how do I get a new paper driving licence? I already have a plastic card one. the replacement form says you can get a plastic one for a paper one, but not a paper one for a plastic one.
gribz
My feeling would be, without checking, that they don't issue paper licence's any more.
smithy266
The paper part is the completion of the plastic card: you need the paper part if you are going to hire a car/van etc, as this is where the endorsments are printed. I didn't know you could get 'new' ones.
DT Ralge
Go to DVLA on-line and pay £20 for a new licence - they will send you new paper counterpart and new photocard. Old bit that you have will need to be destroyed/returned to the DVLA.
Saxon
Old bit that you have will need to be destroyed/returned to the DVLA. Destroyed, yes, returned to DVLA, no. They don't ask which bit you've lost or damaged, they just replace the whole thing. Simply destroy the old one yourself so that there is no confusion.
