Why are the Americans and media blaming BP for oil spill?

Recommended Posts

Hers' a good one - BP are responsible for the Ayatollah Khomeini, The Axis of Evil and unleashing Islamic fundamentalism on the world.

With a little help from the CIA:

If the oil leak had been caused through an intentional terrorist attack it would have been quite effective wouldn't it?

I wonder if some mad mullah squatting in a cave somewhere and keeping a weather eye open for drones ism't thinking there might be a future in doing something like this

Somewhere there's a drone with Osama's name written on it

How dare he have his pic taken..... that's a hell of a crime :loopy:

Who worships this dude? I certainly don't and no else does that I know.

Not a hell of a crime just a hell of a lot of arrogance and indifference I'd say

But where would you start? You couldn't even replicate the Macondo blowout if you tried because it takes about seven things to go wrong at the same time.

You could blow up a producing platform, but that's covered already and there's lots of security measures in place to protect them. Best bet would be to sail a boat loaded with explosives under a production platform and blow it up and I'm sure it's been thought of by said mad mullah.

However it wouldn't lead to a huge oil slick in the North Sea like in the GoM as every producing well has to have a automatic downhole safety valve since the Piper Alpha platform disaster.

I'm sure there's easier targets on land. I'm surprised that more trains haven't been bombed given the lack of security on them. Madrid and the London Underground were both easy targets, but there's been no increase in security since those attacks.

Hardly. What more can the man do? He is a desk jockey... not an engineer or specialist so apart from being at the scene with a mop and bucket, what else do you expect???

So BP sent a carpenter to do a plumbers job. Is that what you're saying?

BP shouuld have brought in a CEO who was an engineer. Maybe that person could have done a better PR job. Could have explained exactly what was at stake and the proposed remedial action to be taken. Hayward instead gave the impression of a lost soul made even worse by saying he did not have the equipment to deal with it. This may have been true but saying it causes people to react extremely negatively in such cases and from then on he's disliked by the people affected and an embarassment to the company

Incidentally I dont wish the man blown up. Just my bizarre sense of humour which tends to get out of hand on occasions

May he sail on blissfully and safely and not lose too many millions on his declining BP stock values :)

I think keeping the mullahs hiding in their caves and killing a lot of their goons has diverted their attention from planning terrorist attacks. These old men dont want to die, just send others to do their dirty work
