Thats so true a small brown has much more fight in it then any fat old carp, you dont see carp leaping out of the water and twisting etc

my best to date is 9lbs 8oz Brown from Eye Brook Res and a 16lbs 3oz Rainbow from Dever Springs last summer .. £50 very well spent..

cool, how much would say u spend fishin a year or month?

Thats not a fair comment as Dever Springs was a present from the Wife (probably get me out of the way whilst Leroy pays a visit ;) ) I probably spend around £80 per month fishing but I earn it so no problem and for me the fight of a lithe fish is allways going to be better than a lard ass of a fish like carp and my tackle costs a damn site less than the "big lip lovers" my rod = 4 piece 9ft 6 inch 7 weight boron Orvis £200 second hand.. reel is a Masterfly Graphite big boy with spare spool £50 (Ebay) line = hardy wf6 cloudy grey intermeadiate (lots) and my own immitations that cost me pence to make.. Not a lot of money when you consider the bite alarms and the three shimano bait runners and the £250+ each for the three rods and the Bivvy and the lighting and the Beer and the constant "No not yet" return calls on the mobile that keeps ringing and bleeping messages at you ? Come and stalk trout it's great fun..

It's as easy as 123 believe me.. Anyone want any free casting lessons ?

I find that the hit from a trout and the fight is much more than playing a 20lbs+ carp that is too fat to do any dynamic moves on you..

Anyone up for a days casting on the Don ? I have 4 spare rods and reels with enough flies to put ykk to shame..

So,anyone for the knit one pearl one, wear a daft hat lesson?how can a 9lb trout compare to a 20lb carp?
