Council offering jobs not open to all applicants

Recommended Posts

If ever proof were needed of just how damaging Labour's obsession with political correctness has been to this country, have a look at this.

Can you imagine the outrage if a council had advertised a job and said only white people could apply? Why isn't Bristol Council being prosecuted for discrimination?

As the article points out it is a training opportunity under provisions in the 1976 Race Relations Act and not a permanent job.

Whilst Labour were in power at the time, had the Tories wanted to repeal or change that legislation they had a couple of decades in which to do so.

Also the thread title is highly misleading since the evidence is that the Council employs more Whites than are represented in the community.

What a surprise that this story is in the Hate Mail.

An Tory MP once said that the Daily Mail had done more harm to this country than all of the bombs in WW2.

Are you saying the claims are false or that Bristol City Council should be able to discriminate against white people?

Would you be happy with the inverse?

They're not being prosecuted because it isn't against the law, as is written in the article you linked to.

Whether its right or not is another matter, personally I dont think it is.

It doesn't seem right to me but the Race Relations Act of 1976 states that "If a racial group is under-represented councils can offer training to individuals from that group".

Which is causing much more harm than good.
