John Simpson Posted June 4, 2010 Share Posted June 4, 2010 Hi, I have been left a medal which belonged to my Grandfather Walter Bollington.His Daughter(my Mother)passed away recently aged 89yrs.So I am assuming the medal was awarded in the 20s or 30s.I was wandering if any older members of the forum might be able to shed some light on the Pitsmoor &Walkley L.V. John Simpson Posted June 20, 2010 Author Share Posted June 20, 2010 Did a bit of research on the medal which is silver and hallmarked with an anchor+lion(Birmingham) and also has the letter o which dates it to 1913.Possible L.V.on medal may stand for Licensed Victuallers.May be my Grandfather played in a league sponsored by local pubs and clubs.
