Swan_Vesta
Any person who's job title includes the word Agent but not the word Secret is an arse. :hihi: B3ta? Teachers and doctors I trust, the rest are as trustworthy as a fat kid in a pick and mix aisle.

espadrille
It is too general a question for me to answer that one. I am sure that there are trustworthy in all the professions mentioned. However , I have met GPs whom I am very dissatisfied with and teachers also. When I was a kid I thought that Doctors and Teachers 'knew everything' and that they were always right. I have since learnt that mainly due to a lack of training they know much less than you expect them to. However as I said it is hard to answer. I guess it is all down to the individual and whether you know them well enough to trust them.

HeadingNorth
Isn't a profession a job of work for which someone gets paid, as opposed to a vocation? In terms of professional rather than amateur, yes; it just means you get paid. In terms of belonging to an actual profession, it means rather more tahn just that. I'm just not sure exactly how it's legally defined. I know that a professional body is involved, to which you must belong if you are to practise your business. I guess it is all down to the individual and whether you know them well enough to trust them. Too true. I was let down by the NHS for many years, by GPs and specialists, and have become cynical about people in general, and their motives. My days of blindly trusting anyone, especially so-caled professionals, are long gone.
